Back

I am back home in Bideford. I will post about my holidays when I am able. However, there will be a delay. I continued getting a tight chest whilst on holiday but more importantly my father was yesterday taken to hospital. He has had a mild heart attack which seems to have been brought on as a result of yet another infection. Hence, I am not really in the mood for blogging. I have two more days of holiday after today before resuming work on Wednesday when I have a funeral service to take. Thankfully, I will not be preaching until Sunday September 2nd. Pending events we may as a family be at Greenbelt on Monday August 27th. We would have booked the whole weekend but my son is involved in rowing races with Bideford Amateur Rowing Club at events on the Saturday and Sunday. I will be trying to be a good father by watching him in action.

Meanwhile, I point you to the best of Methodist blogging

You and family are in my prayers and thoughts. If you do get to Greenbelt (can't see how you will manage that) it would be good to say hi.

Hi,

You, your dad and your family are in my prayers as well.

I missed reading about the right chestedness - I hope that you are able to stay fairly calm about it.

Warmly, Steve

The chest tightness is something I have suffered on and off for nearly 20 years. It is related to tension. I have a all clear on heart from a year or so ago. I have inherited from my father a difficulty in coping with tensions.

I will know about Greenbelt in a couple of days. It depends on how I am feeling and if my father has made satisfactory progress. My daughter is longing to visit on the Monday.

It would be good to say Hi to you Dave if we are there. I'll be in touch on that one.

Steve, I have read the Colin Chapman book. It is an excellent contribution to the debate. Like him, I have come to the conclusion that whilst there is a case for a secure Israel. Christian Zionism is misguided in the way that it sacralises the state of Israel. I have no patience with those Christians who treat Palestinians as being of lesser value than Jews to God. It is in essence a form of racism.

Anyhow good to hear from you guys. I am off to Truro in a few minutes to see my father. Yesterday's report was a little beter.
