I am a 52 year old Methodist minister based in Nottingham having served as a layworker on Isle of Man and a minister in Bideford. Married to the long suffering Andrea for 22 years, we have two great children. James is 18 years old and Kaye is 16 years old. I am theologically a liberal evangelical. I believe that faith influences political judgements so I am a convinced believer that it is imperative to support the poor and the powerless and to seek to promote their interests above all others.If this puts me on the left so be it. Thank you, too, for suggesting I check out the exchange amongst Froggy, his fellow rightwing ad hominem attackers and the attacked, Tony Lagouranis.
I read each of Tony's responses to these personal attacks, and, like you, think that his story is all the more credible given his balanced responses, while the attackers' credibility was nullified by their failure to move beyond emotion-driven rhetoric to logical argumentation in addressing the issues at hand and Tony's central question regarding lawful duty. And, then, Froggy banned Tony from making further comments on his blog, precluding his being able to defend himself.
I'll be posting my daily update on the status of this story on iNoodle.com sometime later today, and intend to include some new links. For now, the December 6 update is available.
Thank you for your help in keeping this story alive-and-growing.
